Centre for so many family holidays. We had a wonderful B&b stay in the castle for a wedding anniversary. Stayed a number of times at Lephin Cottage, and a flat in the castle. Mull really is spectacular. Did you make it to Loch Buie, and the fairy falls?
It’s one of the few islands I think I would be happy on long term. On others I’d miss trees, rivers, lochs and mountains too much, but Mull has them all.
It sounds as if you’ve spent some time there. I’ve only explored the north end. But I love Luing cattle and recognise them if I see them on the mainland.
Beautiful - I appreciate all your photographs and your text. We were recently there, albeit anchored beneath the cliff where the castle sits. I managed some lovely shots of the castle from below in the gloaming (we were anchored overnight before crossing the Sea of Hebrides) and then at dawn as the sun cast its first rays on the stones of the castle. I never got anything like your great shots.
Thanks for sharing. Makes me ache to return to Mull.
It’s a special island - lush and big enough to have a bit of everything, but much of it hidden away down dead end single track roads.

Lucky you. You must have come to know it well.
I’ve photographed some Mull trees you would love. Terrific Atlantic rainforest.
Yes, we did get to Lochbuie. Stayed a couple of nights there in the campervan and breakfasted in the Old Post Office tea room.
I’m not sure what you mean by the fairy falls? The ones north of Ulva ferry?
No, the ones behind the old Glenbyre farm.
I didn’t go that far up the hill, just up to the break in the slope to return on a lovely old path past Tobar Cholium-chille, St Columba’s well.
I look forward to your description in due course:)
Glorious. We almost moved to Mull ❤️

I know what you mean. My favourite island is Luing, but there is a scarcity of forest & lochs. But it’s lovely to have favourite places to visit

The bull is a little scary close up 🤣
I love these postcard posts, Felicity. Definitely tempted!
Thanks Amy. They seemed easier to do when pressed for time.

Thank you. How wonderful to explore Mull by boat. There are so many little islands that you can’t reach without one.
Only 5 miles from Tobermory? I’ll call a taxi!
Definitely tempted - this looks a lovely place for a stroll :-)
Yes, or even a swim if the weather is more benign. Another path leads to 'The Flat Rock', which I think is also used for bathing.
