Well done on this campaign. This is a really informative article and really helps understand the balance between turbines in the right place for the right reasons and those not. Hope to keep reading about updates on this, I really hope that this does not go ahead, it is an absolutely beautiful natural area and would be devastating to see it spoiled

Thank you.

The trouble is the siting of wind farms is left to the market rather than being strategically decided.

So any land an investor buys immediately becomes a target because of the potential for making millions every year from it.

Well done for a great community engagement campaign. I hear your pain. Like you I am not against wind turbines per se, just those in the wrong place, erected by greedy greenwashing companies who care nothing for the environment and only for their shareholders. Add into the mix the fact that to construct these non renewable turbines, masses of oil is needed in their production, their maintenance, and just oiling the blades to keep them turning. Then at their decommission they are non recyclable so will be dumped - where, and at what environmental cost?

Thanks for your support. I didn’t know that about the blades needing oiling, nor that they couldn’t be recycled.
